Adidas House Party

One of my latest favourite TV adverts is the Adidas Originals House Party, which celebrates originality and the brand being in the business for 60years!

The huge house party is full of well known and recognised celebrities including Katy Perry, David Beckham, Method Man, Chris Rock, The Ting Tings, Estelle and Missey Elliott... all dressed in the brands clothing (mmm..not that original!!ha). Everytime I watch the ad I spot another celebrity that I didn't notice had been invited. Performing at the event are Norwegian hip hop band, Madcon with their hit single, Beggin. The music chosen for this ad I feel is perfect and helps create the infectious party atmosphere, that is translated right through the screen to the viewer.

After seeing the ad and hearing the soundtrack, I downloaded it straight away. The original was by Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons, in 2007 it was remixed by Pilooski and in 2008, Madcon did a version.

I think the brand, the music, the all-star cast and brilliant directing (by Nima Nourizadeh ), all contribute to the sucess of the Ad.

Here Sky 1 have obviously noted the popularity and success of the ad and created a Simpsons Spoof Adidas House Party, to promote the Simpsons new schedule:

Diesel's 30th Anniversary Viral

This is still one of my favourite virals, it makes me laugh every time I see it! When asked to talk at She Says, my presentation included digital work which I liked and found inspiring and this was one of them:

The viral uses a large amount of well researched and dug out, old 80's porn, which uses animation to cover up the rude parts. The actors movements and thrusts have been completely altered by cartoon interpretations... including one of a woman playing a harmonica on a mans crutch!! Others included maracas being shook and bongo drums being banged!

After watching it you tube I wanted to find out why and for who it was produced for. The company who came up with the idea and produced the viral was, The Viral Factory. The company said "Our brief was to remind consumers that Diesel is a brand not to be taken for granted, and that they should continue to expect the unexpected.". The viral was intended to promote a series of parties being held to celebrate Diesels 30th Anniversary. I think it was an incredibly simple yet genius idea, that is extremely funny and entertaining to watch! If you haven't seen it... take a look!!

Guido Daniele

After reseaching body art for a previous brief set at uni, I discovered the Italian hyper-realistic, multimedia artist, Guido Daniele. He bagan as an illustrator and experimented with airbrushing and other painting techniques while working with advertising and editing companies.

In 1990, he developed a body painting technique, and his work has been used in advertising images and commercials, as well as fashion events and exhibitions. He painted whole bodies, as well as what I find his most impressive work 'handimals'. 'Handimals' are a sequence of extremely realistic animals painted on the human hand shown below:

I find it incredible the amount of detail he has managed to capture and place on such a small area. In each of his 'handimals' I think has transformed each hand into an animal, leaving the hand hardly recognisable through the paint. Guido was the named 2007 Hero of the Year. An award given to him by the Animal Planet television network.

MJ has beat it and is moonwalking his way to heaven!

Im sure there is no one who is reading this who hasn't heard the shocking news of Micheal Jackson dying of a cardiac arrest yesterday, at the age of 50. On facebook I witnessed the numerous status updates, spreading the news! His impact was also shown through 30% of twitters activity, being dedicated to him..before it crashed.

As a music lover, he had a massive influence on my music tastes...and if anyone has seen me on the dance floor, then I need not say anymore! In the words of P Diddy, who was hugely influenced by Michael's music "He made him see the beat!'..I couldn't agree more!

He truly was a creative artist and often on some of his tracks he came up with the beats by solely using his mouth, no synthesizers were used, unlike many recording artists of his time.

The impact of his death not only sent news websites crashing and horrible jokes about his personal life spreading, but also:
  • Sacha Baron Cohen and Universal Pictures edited a scene fromBrunojust hours before it premiered last night at Hollywood’s Chinese Theater since the scene involved a joke with Michael and La Toya. The movie already screened for reviewers with the scene earlier in the week. There are conflicting stories if the scene will be back in when the film releases on July 10.
  • Keystone Systems reported that 50 of yesterday’s top 100 Google searches and 30% of Twitter activity was Jackson related. Twitter’s Top Trends function appeared to be disabled for a period last night, after being dominated by Jackson tweets.
  • Last.FM reports they streamed 42,000 Jackson songs in two hours last night.
  • As of 10am Pacific time this morning, the current top 15 physical albums at Amazon are Jackson.
  • The top 7 albums at iTunes are Jackson.
  • And right now actual bidding on a copy of the 1990 Sega Genesis Moonwalker video game on eBay is averaging between $100 and $200.
He is a legendary pop icon, that deserves respect from all music lovers. Often his music videos were truly groundbreaking and often using the cutting edge in technology. Thriller was the most expensive music video made at the time and the album was the biggest selling worldwide, over 104 million copies! At the height of the songs popularity, MTV would run the 14-minute video twice an hour!

Below is a clip showing how his music has touched so many people...even "BAD" people!!:

Below is a clip showing his creative talents just using his mouth as a beat box:

Below is a clip of what i feel is his most memorable music video, Thriller:

A true creative artist!!
